I Hate My Boss

Sunday Confessional: I Secretly Hate My Boss

This week's confession comes from our anonymous Confession Booth group in the TrèsSugar Community. Weigh in with your advice below.

My boss is so controlling and mean. She micro-manages us and treats us like we are kids. Keep in mind that we are all over 30 in my department. She forces us to tell her about our private business. We go along with it I think out of fear. But, we can't stand her.

Do you have to like your boss? I don't. But I play along like I do, but let me tell you I am never sad when she is on vacation.

There's lots of cool stuff going on in our community — join it, check it out, share your posts or advice in the great groups, and maybe we'll feature it here on TrèsSugar!

I think this is a hoot! You know the "Recommended For You" box that opens up when you select an issue? This one is titled, "I masturbate and fantasize about being with my supervisor". So here's what you do. Do that. Only as your fantasy, twist it and pretend you're humiliating her. Oh, I can be a naughty boy! lol!

I would say, if you've only had one or two bad bosses, chances are they really were bad bosses. But, if you've had bad one after bad one, chances are you're the problem. I've only had one boss I completely hated, and that was back in high school. I don't have any good advice, since I dealt with him by walking out and telling him to shove it.

My boss is nice enough, but she can be real passive-aggressive and manipulative in getting what she wants out of you. I cringe when I have to play pleasant around her, and I'm so glad I'll be out of there in a couple of months.

I had a boss like that. She made it a living hell for all of us. Eventually the managers caught on about the morale issues in her department and moved her to where she couldn't do any damage. Sometimes you get ineffective bosses. Sometimes you get caustic ones, other times supportive and nurturing ones. If you're joining an organization, you need to ask questions of your future boss. If it's a boss coming in, you just have to deal with it, or take other actions; complain higher up or leave. Complaining is rarely a good idea, but if you're creative, you can leave hints at what's really going on.

I'm with you on that one. You don't have to like anyone at work. You just have to get along with them.
