As a history/civics teacher, I have found lots of interest in this topic. I agree that we will not know Bush's legacy until long after his term is done. Some of our greatest presidents were not considered "great" in their times. Examples include: Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy, Washington and Jefferson. Washington in his second term was no longer untouchable and found the job was attacking at times. The man who we hold in such high esteem felt that he couldn't many people at times. Even Jefferson, considered one of the world's greatest minds, was considered a failure in his presidency in the second term. Lincoln perhaps is the greatest example. He barely won re-election and was constantly second guessed and it was not until years and year later that he became the legend he is today. The point being, history will judge whether or not Bush was a great president and until then, the guessing game will continue.

One of the greatest... that's a scary thought. doesn't say much for our 'great nation' either.
