Low Maintenance Haircut

Dear Sugar
I have fine and thin medium length hair. What would you recommend for a low maintenance cut that doesn't take off too much length? Any suggestions? Lazy Lori

Dear Lazy Lori
If you hair is straight or wavy, a layered shag is a very flattering cut. And when I say shag, I mean long soft layers. Have your stylist cut it either right above your collarbone or an inch to 2 inches below it. Since that Jennifer Aniston right out of bed look is still in, no matter how it dries, you will have instant beachy looking hair. Cut the front layers on angle to frame your face - and this way if you are wearing it up, loose bangs will fall and create a relaxed look. The side and back layers should only be about 1 1/2 inches below your chin. The beauty of this cut is that you don't have to blow dry more than the front. For a dressier look, use a 1-2 inch barrel curling iron to add volume after it's dry. Add a little hair spray (eco friendly, of course) and you're set to go!
