MSNBC Teams Up With Liberal Special Interests For Nov. 4 News MSNBC has launched an exclusive partnership with a variety of left-wing special interest groups to boost their Election Coverage and help viewers experiencing problems at the polls.
Phil Alongi, executive producer of NBC News' Election Coverage in an Oct. 22 press release stated: "Not only will we be able to direct voters who are experiencing problems with a hotline to call, we will also have our team of reporters and producers follow up on the information Election Protection is gathering." Election Protection, the group it will work with, claims to be nonpartisan. None of their listed partner groups, however, lean conservative.

Michelin, it's not about the first or second organization that came to mind. KKK and Operation Rescue work against some of the groups the article above considers left-leaning and liberal. One really should go look at the entire list of organizations involved to get the full point. Whoever posted this article could have included the link, as the blog they quote did, so people could make up their own minds, rather than react off someone telling them it's all left and liberal.

Wow I never cease to be amazed at the hatred and ignorance that is distplayed toward the Republican Party here.

Ginger, is the KKK really the first (or second) "right wing" organization that came to mind? Wow.

"This is very irresponsible reporting at Citizensugar!!" That's funny.

This is very irresponsible reporting at Citizensugar!! Shame on you for repeating the rhetoric of right wing blogs and not even including the names of the so-called "liberal special interests" organizations. Why not at least include the link to Election Protection's list so people could make up their own minds how "liberal-leaning" they consider groups like the Sierra Club, You Tube, and The Bar Association. If their goal was to find organizations with a track record for working with womens rights, people of color, and the environment, there probably aren't many "right-leaning" organizations in those areas. Would it seem more "fair & balanced" if they invited Operation Rescue and the Ku Klux Clan to participate?

Why is everyone just itching for there to be problems with this election. It is like the media is salivating for it. :feedme:

I know it was meant more a joke, but being involved with them, I actually suspected there would be a bias with them, and I thought I wouldn't do it if they asked me or hinted that I should ignore the people in Palin t-shirts, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Has MSNBC claimed to be non partisan? I don't think so they throw stones at FOX News and my be in denial ( since they do the same thing FOX News does). I think the only channel that has laid claim to being non partisan and has shown a true example of that is CNN.

ACORN registers for both parties and McCain has called himself their friend in the past. What's shocking is that human rights and environmental concerns are simply written off as left-wing. I know conservatives who have joined the Sierra Club - should we trade them for the liberals in the NRA?

My comment was more a joke about MSNBC, and not a comment on this organization. I honestly don't know anything about them, and have nothing against them.

I think this is the group I'm going to be working with, and so far, from actually going being involved with them, it is nonpartisan - we will be taught election laws and placed in different voter locations, making sure NO ONE is denied the right to vote if they are eligible and letting people know about provisional ballots in case they cant prove eligibility. The reason it leans left is because mostly the poor get bullied out of their vote, being told things like if they are in foreclosure or if they have been to jail they can not vote, or minorities, who are sometimes told that they may not have anyone assist them in voting, even a translator - these people tend to be democrats, which makes democrats care about this a whole lot more then Republicans because it is their jobs on the line. But practically speaking, we are being placed all over the state and told to watch out for everyones rights.

Well bella there are certain groups who do not want every one's vote counted so of course they are going to scream "left-wing" special interest!

Townhall is calling this "special interests" — when EP is a nonpartisan group that is trying to make sure everyone's vote is counted. Unless Youtube is a left-wing "special interest," of course.

I think it's a perfect pairing. Election Protection claims to be nonpartisan just like MSNBC claims to be nonpartisan!
