MTV Street Team

Taking It to the Street: MTV Campaign Journalism

Starting with the famous Bill Clinton "boxers or briefs" question (oh please, please don't reprise that question for Hillary) those kids at MTV have been covering politics in an in-depth, irreverent, and important way. In addition to their funky, no-holds-barred debates and Rock the Votes Specials, this year they're adding a pack of young journalists, called the MTV Street Team. I'm particularly excited about this because as we've seen, the youngsters have no compunction about asking the tough questions, and the oldsters (uh, that'd be the candidates) feel like they have to speak honestly to the future of the country. Now that's a perfectly juicy combination worth tuning in for.

I love it! As much as I think MTV has gone downhill content wise, they are certainly innovative and still active in the community.
