Minka Kelly Loves Her Flaws

What's Your Favorite Imperfection?

When you think of actress Minka Kelly, physical flaws probably don't come to mind. But Esquire's crowned sexiest woman alive says she too has little imperfections. Perhaps her pronounced love of them makes her even more attractive. She tells Self:

"I love crooked teeth. I love anything imperfect because that's what makes you unique. No one else has that imperfection. No one else has my scar on my chin."

Minka's totally onto something. A recent study from dating site OKCupid found that women who accentuated their so-called flaws had better luck getting dates. So whether it's a bump in your nose or a scar only you notice, what's the imperfection you love most?

My eyebrows are naturally quite different and even with the help of tweezers or wax they never quite look the same, but I guess I just don't care. Most people will never notice anyway. I have very untoned arms- not really okay with that flaw though.

how is an invisible scar under your chin that no one can see a flaw? it's really just a quirk. Celebrities are so annoying when they talk about how "flawed" they are. I have a scar on my thumb! It makes me unique and different and I wouldn't get surgery to change it for the world. Gawd give me a break. But I do support all of you! It's wonderful to hear people embracing things that others think are "flaws" but I dont think freckles, pale skin, glasses, or height is really a flaw either :p

My favorite "flaw" is my freckles. Like secondstar, I am also extremely, extremely pale and covered in freckles. I've always loved my freckles. Honestly, I don't even consider it a flaw, but I always hear people talking about how gross they think freckles are or freaking out in the summer when they get those very unnoticeable ones across their nose. Oh well! I love mine :)

I think my voice is my favorite flaw. I have a little girl voice. It cracks some people up.

I've got a few war wounds (knee surgery scars) from athletic endeavors. If someone asks what happened, I will launch into one of several fun, but fabricated, stories to see how long they buy into it. The stories get grander by the second, but I always follow with a wink and the truth! *wide grin*

this is going to sound so weird but here goes... I'm hispanic so I am tan 24/7 but in the last 2 years I have been getting sunspots on my shoulds... even when I'm not in the sun... I like to refer to them as my "speckles".... they are VERY noticeable (especially when at the bar under the neon lol) but i LOVE them!

I have a scar on the bridge of my nose, right between my eyes. Considering I'm an otherwise quite pretty, feminine girl, it's quite sexy - gives me a touch of the pirate.

I think usually when people have a "flaw" they actually like it's because it's not really a flaw at all! It's just something that's different about them that's cute in its own way. My "flaws" are things like the weight around my stomach that won't go away even with diet and exercise and the extra skin that hangs down throughout my body from my weight loss. I could get plastic surgery if it weren't so expensive or I could say "oh I love that fat, it's just amazing." but I don't think so ;)

I have lightning bolt shaped scar from a surgery on my wrist. I call it my ode to Harry Potter :)

Oh please Minka Kelly, I'm sure the bangin body is a nice offset! hahah! Well I do like when celebrities are shown as not perfect, hence my love for "Stars Without Makeup" pix! This is a tough question for me to answer because honestly, I'm not too happy with most of my flaws! I agree with RoaringSilence about the glasses though, I love my glasses and would never get Lasik!

I've really struggled to accept my own imperfect teeth, but for some reason I find it endearing in other people. I also kind of like being flat. I don't know anyone who has a figure like mine. I have girlfriends with straight, angular noses, which they hate, but I'm kind of envious of.

Being tall. I'm 5'9", and lots of people insist I must be 5'10", but I've never been measured at that, so I won't acknowledge it! I hated it when I was a teenager, and though I've come to accept it — and sometimes like it (like in crowds when my short friends are shoved against people's backs and my head is above the crowd), overall I still have mixed feelings. I literally can't be attracted to guys who are shorter than me, because standing next to them makes me feel big (I even told one, it's not that you're short, it's that I'm tall . . . it didn't go well). But, overall, tall is great if you're model, but mixed if you're anyone else (at least me).

My skin is super pale, practically translucent, and I get lots of freckles in the summer. And I love it. I was made fun of it when I was little, and was always self conscious and jealous of all the "normal" tan girls. Now that I'm older I've found all the perks (I can rock a Dita VonTess/Snow White look better than any bronze chick), and it's one of my favorite traits. The freckles I've always loved.

I have glasses, which I used to hate, and I still think they're horribly impractical, but I've heard from a lot of people that they're totally into that look. So they're staying!
