"The Moonwalk" on H.R. Pufnstuf

Did Jacko Jack the Moonwalk?

Contrary to popular belief, "The Moonwalk" long preceded Michael Jackson's rise to fame in the '80s. H.R. Pufnstuf, a popular children's television program, debuted the dance (or some variation of it) in the early '70s. The fabulously overdressed frog lady who first showcased the routine had a bit more hip action than Jacko, but other than that, she demonstrates the same dance. For the most part.

ya, I hated shows like that when I was young. it kind of made me dizzy/scared... moving trees, human pillars/clocks? I didn't get it and 20 years later I still don't :(

That frog lady is the stuff of my nightmares. I had to stop watching before it got to the moonwalk. I'm sorry.
