Obama to Meet With McCain at Transition Office Once campaign rivals, President-elect Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain are ready to talk about how they can collaborate on issues facing the country. A private meeting, slated for today at Obama's transition office in Chicago, will be the first since Obama beat McCain, the Republican candidate, in the Nov. 4 election.

I would think that they wouldn't spend all of their time together in front of the press! Hopefully that was just the photo op! Arg.

I think reaching across party lines is important but the piece I saw of them together, at least in front of the press, was very awkward. McCain looked especially uncomfortable and their only stab at talking with any measure of success, was over collage football.

I think this is a great thing, because there are several areas where they see eye to eye on serious issues. Hopefully they can come together to get things done.
