Palin v. Biden: Who's Watching the VP Debate With Us?!

Palin v. Biden: Who's Watching the VP Debate With Us?!

Forget Super Tuesday, guessing when Hucakbee and Hillary will drop out, the seemingly never-coming Obama VP text, Obama's massive speech at Invesco, or waiting for John McCain's next surprise — tonight's vice-presidential debate could be the most anticipated event of this campaign! We have no idea what will ensue when the action starts at 9 p.m. (EDT), but we'll be here commenting during the whole thing. Please join us! We're dying to know what you think!

Want to do some predebate prep? The New York Times asked people with knowledge of the vice presidency and the candidates to suggest questions they’d like to hear. And if you're heading to or hosting a debate festivity, PartySugar has all the tips you need. I know I will be filling out my Palin Bingo Card throughout the face-off, and depending on how things go, a VP debate drinking game might be just what you need.

LL Cool J probably wouldn't grant permission. Oh yea, McCain/Palin doesn't give a woop and just takes the songs they want. Neil Diamond's America would be good for Biden. The way his voice cracks with emotion at the end...when he's singing "today!" But the lyrics aren't catchy in that campaign song sort of way.

Wait I think Palin should use "Holla Back Girl"

With her schedule, I assume her husband is the parent, and she is the vice-parent.

I was just thinking Sara Palin should use LL Cool J's "Mama said knock you out" song as her theme song on the campaign. McCain should use "Mack the Knife" or Iggy Pop's "Wild One" or "Horse with no name". Joe should use something by John Denver or Neil Diamond. And Barak should use...drumroll...duh "Ebony and Ivory" by Wonder and McCartney.

"Why call this a debate. Palin just gave little speeches." I agree.

"Well she is a hockey mom, but she kept saying "soccer moms" during the debate." The woman has five children. She's probably also a ballet mom, and a theater mom, and football mom, and a PTA mom, and a debate mom....etc.

You don't have to call it a debate but "Don't call it a comeback!" Hee hee!

Not a rhetorical question: What percent of the population is the group "soccer moms"?

I usually look at Rasmussen, which updates at 9:30pm on the dot everyday (EST) and then Gallup. But you won't see results from this debate until Saturday though.

juju, see I didn't see that as twisting, I saw it as her answering it in terms that everyone could understand. I think the young kids at home voting for the first time could understand the things that Palin was saying SO much easier than they could Biden, and I think that's important. Our 18 year olds need to be invested. People shouldn't be waiting until they're in their 30's (Like I did) to start really paying attention. Mykie, I'm 19 and I didn't see her speech as "talking in terms that I could understand." I perfectly understood what Joe Biden was saying and he mostly stuck to the questions he was asked. It seems like Sarah was just talking to "soccer moms." Nothing against soccer moms (my mom was one), but I hate when Sarah references them every few minutes. I always feel insulted when people talk down about the youth vote (not saying that you are Mykie), because I have been interested in politics since I was 7 years old and Bill Clinton was running for re-election against Bob Dole. Granted, I am much more invested now since I can actually vote and I understand politics a lot better now. Anyway, I'm registered to vote, I'm going to vote for Obama on Nov. 4th, and I have a lot of friends who are going to vote too. Don't count us out just yet.

"Is that correct?" "No....I want....to....talk about..energy." You say something is not correct and then change the subject?

a good place for poll results is real clear politics.. they take all the polls and list them separately as well as a joint statistic. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html I would imagine they would have some new ones by late tomorrow.. otherwise go to FOX News, CNN, and MSNBC and pool them together to get an accurate average statistic LOL!

All the early polls say Biden won it by a wide margin.

The Biden comment about her using a Wind Fall Profits tax in Alaska that McCain is against was BRILLIANT!
Jillness Jillness 9 years
1.) She took on oil? BP threw her a ball! 2.) The oil "tax breaks" that she keeps talking about that Obama voted for. The legislations gave them MORE taxes in some areas, and less taxes in others. Overall, it INCREASED taxes on oil companies AND directed money at renewable energy. Factcheck.org has clarified this many, many times (it was used during the primaries). The McCain campaign has no problem repeating this lie over, and over to the American people.

I thought it was funny that right after Joe explained how he was lied to personally by Bush which made him vote for the war that she said he like a lot of other politicians never explain why you are for it till you are against it.. Joe did.. right before you started spouting nonsense again Gov!! Do you think at time tonight Joe thought he was hallucinating half way through her answers.. like someone slipped mushrooms into his drink or something.. she would go so far away from the actual topic of the questions?? He had to think he was hearing things... LOL!
