Photos and Quotes From Rielle Hunter Interview With GQ

Rielle Hunter Shares Her Real Love For Johnny Edwards in GQ

In her photos shoot with GQ, John Edwards' ex-mistress Rielle Hunter scandalizes purple dinosaur Barney who appears to catch a glance of her underwear. While Rielle told Barbara Walters this morning that she was "repulsed" by the photos GQ ran, the words that came out of her mouth during the interview with the magazine only confirm her questionable judgment. Referring to John Edwards as "Johnny" throughout, she uses her experience to offer relationship-advice gems. Some highlights:

  • On Elizabeth: I watched my father die of cancer. It's heart-wrenching to me. But it's also sad to me, her unwillingness to take responsibility for her part in the marriage. And her unwillingness to face the truth. We're all slaves to our unconscious, but she really believes that it's everyone else's fault.
  • On female-male relationships: Had I spoken, I would have emasculated him. And I could not emasculate him. Also, it is not my desire to teach my daughter that when Mommy's upset with Daddy, you take matters into your own hands and fix Daddy's mistakes. Which I view as one of the biggest problems in all female-and-male relationships.
  • On knowing it was special the first night: He in fact did say to me the first night, "Falling in love with you could really f*ck up my plans for becoming President." And of course I said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans."
  • On the man's role: He drives our relationship. He's the man. [laughs] He's in the driver's seat.

I'm sure Elizabeth Edwards is pleased, no?

I finally read the whole article. I'm speechless. I think she sounds delusional.

i always blame the spouse, and never the other. however she shouldn't talk crap about the first wife. she's disgustingly lowclassy in everything she says here.. stfu did the magazine make the shoot such a weird idea for more publicity? it is horrid

Does anyone else find it ironic that her last name is "Hunter?"

this woman is a classless skank! of course elizabeth edwards is going to blame it on other people. sure she may have had fault in her relationship with her husband... but he and the skanky lady were the ones that made the decision to commit adultery.... i hope this woman gets her ass reamed just like all the other skankys that mess around with married men. ugh! she should be ashamed of herself

I guess I don't understand why she feels the need to tell her side of the story. She isn't famous, she isn't even a politician.. I think the best thing for her to do, is fade into the mist, and try to live a normal life for your child...

way to blame it on the other woman! what a skankasaurus.

Argh... why are people like this even desirable to be interviewed for magazines?! And/or photographed?! I am shocked at what she had to say about Elizabeth... I just wish it were possible to slap the skank out of someone because Rielle would be a prime candidate! "My dad died of cancer so I am qualified to pass judgment on my lover's wife who is also dying of cancer." Ick!

If she wants to make herself look better (and who knows if she really cares) maybe she should start keeping her pants on. And not only in photo shoots.

Glowingmoon- You took the words right out of my mouth! I feel sorry for her daughter. She's the innocent one and she's stuck with these two as parents!? That poor baby.

she just better remember that she had a daughter from this man and since they both are so disrespectful, her daughter will fall in love one day and she will love that man so much that there will be a mistress coming in that marriage, poor gile will feel elizabeth pain

I woke up to this BS and I'm still pissed off. She's a disgrace. And apparently it's okay to talk trash and reveal this stuff if you're (allegedly) not getting paid for it. Yeah, you're still one classy lady.

Camarogirl67, my thoughts exactly. An irresponsible father and fame-mongering mother-- I hope they get their act together for the sake of their child.

Everything about this is unbecoming and unsavory. I didn't bother to read the whole interview, or look at all the pictures. I just skimmed, as I developed distaste. I find this inappropriate on many levels. Don't get me started, or I would never stop writing. :) Also, I think this interview is a testament to her character, as it's an act of her will, and completely elective. As far as I'm concerned, she and Edwards deserve each other.

Honestly, it's GQ. What did she expect? If she was so worried, then she should have gone through the trouble to ensure that she gets final approval in what goes in to the magazine. This interview is pathetic. Not only is she an insult to women (he's in the drivers seat? She doesn't want to emasculate him? Please...), I can't help but imagine what Elizabeth Edwards would think if she read this. She's doing a disservice to both herself, John, and her daughter.

I agree, snarky, they're both "the baddies." If the excerpt on Hunter and Edwards from Game Change is to be believed, Hunter openly pursued a married man, acted bizarrely, and treated Edwards' staff and volunteers horribly. Edwards made some mistakes, as well. But, as stated by naveah and others, this article was about Hunter, not Edwards.

Ms. Hunter here's a thought-he was married man whose wife had cancer and replaced her with you. He will have no problem finding the next woman to replace you.

Since this is an article featuring I wrote my feeling about the article (her). As for the guy "Johnny," oh I do have a few choice words for him, reserved to article featuring him. :)

I'm not saying I'm a fan of her (she comes off as such a fame-whore) but I wholeheartedly agree with Anon 11.

"If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." ...And I'm sure that you being involved in an adulterous affair with a married man, who has children and a wife with cancer - is God's plan? This is the most laughable part of the interview.
