The Moment of Truth: Have We Lost Our Effing Minds, People?

The Moment of Truth is a new reality game show on Fox. The premise? One sucker takes the stage to answer a series of questions. When the truth is told, the sucker wins a whole bunch of moolah— but at what cost? A lady in Colombia admitted to hiring a hit man to kill her husband and won $25,000 for her honesty. What do we think she's going to spend that money on— a pony? The woman wanted her husband dead for Pete's sake! Anyway, here's some dude named Ray. He's a petty thief who resents his mother and likes pornography, but really loves his wife. . .

What's the "gong" for? Is that when they don't want to know the answer so they spare him from answering it?

reality shows just needs to stop. But all that editing in that clip remind me of 'saw' in a strange way.

Moment of Truth strikes me as society at its worst. It reminds me of the "TV Family" from Fahrenheit 451, "empty dramas of tenuous connections and transient, sensational images." It's pure emotional sludge, and I'm afraid people are going to eat it up. I wish people pay as much attention attention to the world around them as the latest shock show on Fox.
