Real or Fake? Giving Thanks to Sarah Palin

Everything about this video produced to give thanks for Sarah Palin sounded legitimate, and then I watched it. And everything — save the part about the troops — looks like a parody that Tina Fey will jump into at any second.

Yet it all checks out. It will air on cable station across the US this weekend. A conservative group called Our Country Deserves Better claims to have paid for and created the ad as a counterattack to the media bashing thrown her way. But the conspirator in me says it cannot be real. Or can it?

>"And in my defense, you were rather snarky." >She's snarky to a lot of us. Sorry, TS but it's true! =D Whatever.

Roarman, I didn't think your response to my question on why you didn't like Palen was hateful, it was honest. We just disagree. I actually appreciated your thought out response. Hainan57 got what I was trying to say and I agree with her 100%. Got it em?

I think this was real and hilarious.

:oy: Until someone shows me the lynch mob calling for Sarah Palin's head on a plate, talking about people being hateful towards her is pretty pointless. And "don't vote for her"? Yeah, we're not...since she's not in the running for anything at the moment. Got it.
StolzeMama StolzeMama 8 years
roarman- if she doesn't meet you qualifications, that's fine. Don't vote for her, but there are a lot of HATEFUL comments said on this site about Sarah palin. Many, many mean things. People are making rude comments about people from Alaska, like they have no idea what is going on with the US. Saying that people who would vote for her as bitter, gun clinging Americans with antipathy towards those who aren't like them.a I really don't need to go on and on. If you haven't seem the outward attacks on her as a person, you are blind. I think that is what lazy is referring to. (correct me if I'm wrong) She doesn't have the experience... that is a fine argument as to why not to vote for her. My reason for not voting for Obama was I had no record of what he stood for in the political arena. To me it was like he had no history, and so how could I trust what he was saying. To me trust has to be earned. Now if I wanted to be hateful to him like people are to Palin, I would probably have a rash of people jumping down my throat. Just please people. Don't be so hateful.

"She may not be as read on foreign affairs as you want for a Vice President but I guess I just don't see why thinking a candidate isn't as qualified as you want warrents hostility." I don't think I was being hostile. I expect a lot from those I put in the White House, and she doesn't hold up. I do think you should be well versed on things like foreign policy and supreme court matters to be anywhere near the white house. You should be qualified for the position you are trying to get and she was not.

"The shout-out during the debate was considered a high scorer in the post debate controlled poll rooms. I don't think that was too embarrassing." Not much of a standard for professional behavior, is it? Maybe people who don't like Palin take the needs of the country more seriously than people who score political campaigns like basketball games.

I think this might real but what's throwing people off is the production value... it's obviously not produced by an organization with unlimited funds so that's what you get. I think in their attempt to seem "real" they came off more comical (especially the first man in the ad; I felt like I was watching SNL).

"And in my defense, you were rather snarky." She's snarky to a lot of us. Sorry, TS but it's true! =D "Liberal women aren't the only ones who 'dislike' Palin." Sure aren't!!

"She may not be as read on foreign affairs as you want for a Vice President" - I mean really WT*. Would you go to a doctor who wasn't well qualified???????????
sorrowja sorrowja 8 years
He'd switch it up based on audience - This I understand But this . . . . ."I've heard Barack Obama sound more Black if he was addressing a mostly Black crowd" I don't I'm offended. What is "sound more Black"? Didn't know there was such a thing. The ad was tacky real or fake. It's not that I don't like I just couldn't relate to her. She just didn't seem like she could hold her own.

That video is hilarious. And, probably, totally true.

Hmmm. I didn't see her coming off as a joke. In fact, I liked that she was a straightforward speaker. She may not be as read on foreign affairs as you want for a Vice President but I guess I just don't see why thinking a candidate isn't as qualified as you want warrents hostility. I don't like Hillary Clinton's politics, but that doesn't make me think I need to bash everything about her. I just wouldn't vote for her. The distain people show towards Palin seems so snide and sophmoric to me. You don't like her, don't vote for her. What's with comments like "I was hoping she would go back to Alaska with her tail between her legs"?
Roarman Roarman 8 years
She came off as a joke, a charicature. She didn't show she had any real intelligence or knowledge of things one would expect of a Vice President. I didn't see her as the change we needed, we spent 8 years with a dumbed down President, it was time for some real intellect in the White House, we weren't going to get that with her in there. "...liberal women don't like her" Lots of women and men don't like her. I know both republican women and men who were for McCain until he chose her. She put a lot of people off.
em1282 em1282 8 years
Smilesp, until the GOP gets itself back together and figures out what to do, I think Palin's gonna be pretty visible. More Jindal, please.

I don't hate ringworm. It's annoying, but doesn't deserve "hate", unless you're a wrestler who keeps getting it from the sweaty mats. Until someone actually says the word "HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!", I think it's pretty hard to extrapolate what they actually mean from a comment about something like, I don't know, ringworm. Try again!

LOL. my favorite is how the first guy emphasized ARTICULATE. omg. HILARIOUS...but also pretty sad for the people who participated in this ridiculous ad and are clearly incredibly disillusioned...or on drugs. idk. pick one. omg i hope this is real. it's hilarious.

The shout-out during the debate was considered a high scorer in the post debate controlled poll rooms. I don't think that was too embarrassing. Perhaps you just don't like her.

If the video isn't real it should be. As a nation, we should be giving laud to the traits, behavior recognized in this video. Seriously ladies, what did Sara Palen do that caused such an adverse reaction in you? Do you have the same animosity towards other political figures?
stephley stephley 8 years
When does she consider a situation requires professional behavior? She was pretty embarrassing with her winking, doggoneits and shout outs to grade schoolers at the vice presidential debate.
beavis667 beavis667 8 years
Em's quote from the mormon/prop8 thread: "Palin's like a case of ringworm that just won't go away. Except with skirtsuits and glasses." You make it pretty easy to make a case.

"Also, we save our "hate" for real issues, not moose-eating wolf-shooting governors" LOL, you can't help but take shots at her. Yeah, no hate for her.

I was really hoping this woman would run back to Alaska with her tail between her legs after the election. Doggoneit.

Also, we save our "hate" for real issues, not moose-eating wolf-shooting governors. There are more important things out there right now that command more attention.

There are plenty of politicians with funny and wierd voices and Sarah Palin just adds to the list. What really makes me not like her is her political views and lack of knowledge on domestic and foreign affairs. P.S. what were the ingredients to that moose chili?
