Relationship Protocol: His House or Yours?

If you're not ready to share the same mailing address as your boyfriend, chances are you take turns spending time at each other's apartments. But when you're flip flopping houses, it's easy to feel the nag of living out of a bag. In every relationship, give and take is key, but it seems like every couple ends up spending more time at one person's place. So whether your place is bigger or his place is nicer, where do you spend most of your time: his place or yours?

100% mine. Since September (When classes started), I have only visited his room twice when his roommates were in, twice when they weren't. He lives in the dorms...enough said. I live alone...enough said.

It's about 50/50 right now though I suspect this will change over the summer when he has to move to live at his parents again... I think he'll be spending more time at mine. ;p

We used to stay at his place a lot but now we're at mine more... and it'll probably change again soon.

his place. I live in Astoria and work on the upper east side and he lives in Hoboken and works in Weehawken. Since my commute from his place is really only ten extra minutes and his from my place would be an extra hour - during the week I stay there. He does come by my place on weekends provided neither of us have other plans.

His place for sure. I live in the city and have a roommate, so on the weekends I love to just get away and head to his place in the suburbs. I can't wait to get married and move to the suburbs with him!

We definately spend more time at his place than mine. I live in a small rural community, he lives in a large city. It takes me longer to get to work when staying at his house, but if he was to stay at my house, it would take him twice as long due to traffic. Also, with my custody arrangement, my son stays a week with me and a week with his father, those weeks that my son's with his dad, I stay with my bf. When my child's with me, I stay home (closer to my son's school). When my son goes back with his dad, my bf and I are more than ready to see each other and spend lots of "quality time" together. It's hard doing so much traveling and living life out of a bag but we keep our chins up. One of these days we'll be in a position to move in together.

It's almost equal, but I think we mostly spend the weekend at his place since it's huge and there's a gorgeous park right outside the door!

We spend more time at his house. Our usual schedule is 3 days at mine (which really ends up to be 3 nights, and about 2 and a half days counting travel time), and 4 days at his, he gets the better end of the bargain, but he also has kitties that need to be taken of.

His place. Its a three minute work from my job, and he has a great entertainment system. My apartment is 45 minutes away from work, so its easier to sleep over at his place alot.

His. He lives in Manhattan and closer to my work place. Who wants to commute from Astoria when you can commute from Manhattan without paying Manhattan rent!

My place. But only because I have a doggie. Sometimes I'll spend the day at his place but he always stays the night at mine.

His. We're in a long distance relationship until August when I move in with him so I tend to go there more than he comes here. He has his own place, I live with my parents. He also works full time and is going to school while I'm just waiting to start school in August now. So it makes more sense for me to go there because it's his and because I have unlimited free time right now.

My place, I'm closer to all of our friends and have a nicer place (with backyard in the city!). When i have to be in to work early, his place, it's a lot closer to my office.

His place, because he prefers to ride his bike to work, and my place is 30 miles from his work. Also he lives in a large city near my family, so it is more convenient if I spend most of my time there...versus spending time in the small farming community where I work.

Before I moved in with my man I lived at home. So a majority I would spend at his it was only like 5 minutes from work! And then whenever my parents were away somewhere, he would spend the night at my home :)

we both live within 10 minutes of each other, so it's half and half, though we seem to spend more time at his place now that he has a new TV and a million movies. My place is way nicer though :P I live in the 'hip' part of the city, so whenever we go out to eat, etc, we usually end up at my place.

Before I moved, he lived closer to my work and closer to well, civilization lol than I did, so we would hang out at his house a lot or I would stop by quickly on my way home from work. But now that I have moved closer to work and even closer to restaurants and people and things, he is spending a lot of time at my place. Also, my apt. is 3 mins from his campus so now he does the quick little stop-bys.

HIS place! i moved back in with my parents for grad school, and haven't gotten around to finding my own place, especially since i started seeing my bf after the first semester. 1 1/2 years later, i figure i'll just wait until we're married and officially move in then!
