Rumors Fly After Election: Which One Shocks You More?

Now that the election has ended, members of the campaigns aren't quite as tight lipped. It's like getting a retroactive backstage pass when happy, or disgruntled, aides start revealing happenings that didn't make the talking points or headlines. The latest issue of Newsweek takes a look at the secret battles waged on the path to the White House, and the private events are a doozy! Of these leaks featured in the expose, which one surprises you the most?

All I have to say about this is that the icy hug & pat she got from John McCain at his concession speech was louder than words. I have actually learned a lot watching O'Reilly's body language segment not to mention my last employer was an expert too.

mydiadem, I understand where you are coming from. My comment was mostly about people who assume that everything that's wrong with the country is Bush's fault. I don't plan on assigning Obama with the same level of responsibility that others have placed on Bush. But Congress better watch out...

The fox reporter said she greeted them in a bathrobe, to me that's a completely different image ie all covered up. Besides that I think it's reprehensible that these people are now willing to throw her to the wolves (sorry for the pun) I know it's all about distancing yourselves from the loss but whatever happened to loyalty?

Kranky I generally agree though Bush did grab a boat load of new powers for the executive branch during his 2 terms and therefore I feel I can be moreso disappointed in him. And he himself always talked about personal responsibility and what not. I still don't understand how people could have given him a second term though, even though Kerry wasn't an ideal candidate.

There was no implication on my end. Please reread my posts. I have said repeatedly that I heard Obama was backing away from his tax plans, and I wanted details. I pay taxes. I want to know what to expect, and I could not find any information. I am not so shallow as to assume that there isn't any information just because I couldn't find it. Stop looking for a motivation that isn't in existence.

Kranky, I know you read news sites because you've referenced them in the past so your inquires do seem odd. You know from reading that Obama has said the current economic crisis may delay some of his plans and you know from reading that nothing he said this week has been different. Yet you act as if something has happened that you haven't been let in on. Asking if someone has stopped beating their wife is asking for information, but there is criticism implied.

Randy "I thought obama was going to change things!" (after getting drunk after win and hitting his boss who fired him) that was so funny! the whole episode was hilarious!

mydiadem, I also agree - in terms of getting things done, there are more factors at work than just the President (which I why I am constantly amazed that everything is Bush's fault to a lot of people). I am not criticizing Obama. Asking for information is not being critical, though it has been interpreted as such on this thread. He is my president-elect, and I have the right to ask what he has in store for me. I suspect a lot of non-Obama people will have similar questions down the line, and I ask that everyone tries not to take such things as criticisms.

Look at all these rumors surroundin' me every day I just need some time, some time to get away from From all these rumors, I can't take it no more My best friend said there's one out now about me and the girl next door That's really all I can contribute to this thread. They're rumors, I'm ready to move away from Palin. After these last few months nothing really surprises me anymore

So long as Palin never runs for (or at the very least never wins) any position in the White House again, I will very willingly ignore these rumors. It wasn't MY money helping her go on that shopping spree so I don't care. I do have to say, greeting top advisors in a towel (if that is even true bc it does seem really farfetched) = awesomely HILARIOUS. I'd pay good money to see that happen.

South park was awesome! those guys must have stayed up all freaking night to do that! Randy "I thought obama was going to change things!" (after getting drunk after win and hitting his boss who fired him)

That Obama's Aunt thing is old news, it was brought up last week and like Kranky said has no bearing on how he will perform as president. And I also think it is time to stop talking about Palin, if we all ignore her she might go away.

'I wasn't questioning whether Obama was delivering - how could he possibly? That would also be absurd. I just want to know what to look forward to in my tax future. Apparently, no one else knows either, so my question is answered. We wait...' I think we can safely apply that to all of Obama's campaign policies. There is a certain amount of trust we put into our candidates that they are truly going to live up to the ideas they put forth while campaigning. And its pretty reasonable to expect that any President can't effect every change needed on his own. The Congress plays a big part, as well as some outside factors like our current economic situation. I am an Obama supporter, and I was a Bush supporter in 2000. Bush was a completely different president than what he promised in his campaign in my opinion so I didn't vote for him in 2004. If Obama disappoints me in a similar matter is still yet to be seen.

Mom, Unfortunately, the suga talked about is correct. Here's a link: She was here illegally, and Obama stated that he did not know that. I have firmly established myself as not being an Obama fan, but the allegation that he is to fault for his aunt's situation is... absurd and has no bearing whatsoever on how he will perform as President. And Stephley - I wasn't questioning whether Obama was delivering - how could he possibly? That would also be absurd. I just want to know what to look forward to in my tax future. Apparently, no one else knows either, so my question is answered. We wait...

At this point, I just want to move on from the Palin stuff. Yes, it appears that she was a bit of a loose cannon (maverick); yes,it appears she spearheaded a lot of the smear attacks that played a role in giving people negative feelings about the McCain/Palin campaign; and yes, it's pretty embarrassing that she didn't realize Africa was a continent. But she lost, and we won't have to worry about her getting into office anymore (for the foreseeable future). So, you know...I think we can just let her fade away. The foreign hacker thing is scary.
