Say What? Sarah's the New Hillary

Say What? Sarah's the New Hillary

The Alaskan who shot to stardom a year ago as the tough embodiment of Diana the Huntress has now stepped down as governor and morphed into what the Republicans always caricatured Hillary as — preachy, screechy and angry.

— In her column today, Maureen Dowd tries to compare and contrast Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.

what an insult to sec. clinton. or on the other hand, maybe not. no skin off clinton's nose. clinton is far more intelligent and educated and now sec of state while palin is...nothing. for me, there is nothing to compare.

I personally do not believe Hillary is as bad as the GOP makes her out to be. My point, roundabout as it was, is that they are not saying Palin is LIKE Hillary, but that she embodies the bad rap that Hillary has always gotten.

Read the article, ladies. No one ever said they ARE similar. Just that Palin "has morphed into what the Republicans always caricatured Hillary as". Which is true. IMO. Palin has become (well, I think she always was) the bitter, shrill shrew that the GOP has always portrayed Hillary as.

Aside from having the same gender and sex and line of work, I don't see how they are comparable.

I'm not a terribly huge fan of Hillary, but Sarah...no! I'll take Hillary, a super smart (yet kind of scary) lady over Palin any day. It's like comparing a housecat to a lion.

Ugh, Sarah Palin, please just go away.

I don't see the comparison either. Critics said that Hillary Clinton was too masculine in her presence and demeanor; and, Sarah Palin was the embracing the soccer mom image.

I agree genesis. I don't see how any comparison can be made at all. It's almost offensive... they are both women and both politicians yes. That's where it stops.

No, regardless of how they're caricatured they have almost nothing in common besides both being female politicians.
