She Mocked My Anus

Dear Sugar
I went to my Gyno for my annual checkup last week. Everything was fine and the doctor was set to leave when I asked one of the most embarrassing questions I've ever posed. "Can you look at my anus?" The doctor, who had one finger on the doorknob, turned, sighed and asked me why. I said, "I think I have a beauty mark on my anus." She said, "A beauty mark? And you just noticed it now?" I nodded. "Is it a bump and does it hurt?" I nodded again. Then she said, "That isn't a beauty mark and I don't want to look at your anus - And, I think you've exhausted your $5 co-pay." With that she left. Dear Sugar, what should I do now? Should I go to the emergency room to have it checked out? Should I find a new doctor who will look at it? What's your advice? Mortified Mimi

Dear Mortified Mimi
I think that you should look for a new doctor. Not only can you find a better relationship with someone else but she doesn't sound very professional either. As if going to the Gynecologist isn't akward enough at times, she shouldn't have mocked your anal bump and then thrown your insurance co - pay at you as an excuse for a brief check up. I would be worried that she's doing a haphazard job. Stop over at the office to collect your chart and file. You should not have been treated like that.
