Apparently the oldest child gets to enjoy more than just a later curfew — he also has a higher IQ. In a 2007 study that examined over 100,000 brothers, researchers found that first-born children have a higher IQ than their younger siblings by an average of 2.3 points. Also interesting? The time older children spend studying tends to be devoted to other activities, like the arts or sports, for younger siblings.
