I am an Enviromental Science major and currently we have more available gas now than we have had in 17 years. This is gouging, the oil companies are making huge profits.

Somebody is making money off of these prices. I see that oil company (Shell, etc) profits are up.

I got 5 out of 5 correct! I wish gas was still $1.08/gallon. Why are we paying so much for fuel when the gas companies (Exxon, BP, etc.) are having record profits ~ in the billions of dollars. Why doesn't somebody do something????

We have noone but ourselves to blame. The warnings were out as far back as 1973 but in our selfishness and oneupmanship we just have to have gas guzzlers and big cars and 3 or 4 in every garage. We reap what we sow.....

I drive a Suburban and it cost about $100 to fill up. If I don't go out and do the norm of going to work & dropping off the kids, it can last 2 weeks. Just this morning I was talking about looking for a carpool service & findING a buspool for my kids. THIS IS CRAZY !!!!!!

I walk to work, so it will take me a while to spend 500 on gas - but I'll still be very thankful to win!

Energy consumers are as dominoes, prices are accelerating yet in time, we'll all be knocked down. The madness of the game yields increased revenues for the government and big money corporations so they play other games to attempt to please the fallen consumers. Eventually many dominoes will be broke, unable to be a part of the game any longer.

I just recently retired because I was driving 35 miles one way to work. Living in Oregon is a plus but the cost of gas is killing me. I live in the country and love it so I try and go to town (which is 18 miles one way) once a week and do all my errands. I'm lucky because I can afford that but I feel for the people that don't have extra for that Sunday drive. Guess we have to get used to the high cost of gas. What is really funny is how much it cost to fill your lawn mower.

I find myself going out less often which I'm finding can be more fun.

I filled up yesterday, and it was more than I've ever spent on gas. I was in a state of shock. I really need this!
