We know how amazing sex can be [1], but how far would you be willing to go for it? Online doctor service DrEd [2] asked more than 2,000 Europeans and Americans a range of questions to see how important sex was to them [3] and they all began with: "Would you rather . . ." Results found that both men and women would go great lengths to be able to keep sex for life. But overall, American respondents in general would give up a lot more over sex versus what Europeans would sacrifice — except when it came to alcohol. Here are some of the most interesting stats.

Life Pleasures or Sex?

• 75.2 percent of all participants would rather give up alcohol than sex.
• 62.8 percent would rather give up pizza than sex.
• 47.3 percent would rather give up meat than sex.
• 35.8 percent would rather give up traveling than sex.

Limbs or Sex?

• 82.5 percent of American men and 57.1 percent of American women would rather lose a finger than never have sex again.
• 76 percent of European men and 54.4 percent of European women would rather lose a finger, also.
• 42.4 percent of American men and 29.1 percent of American women would rather lose an arm over sex.
• 37.2 percent of European men and 18.7 percent of European women would also give up an arm.

Oral Sex or Alcohol?

• 24.5 percent of American women and 17.4 percent of men would give up oral sex for beer.
• 30.5 percent of European women and 30.3 percent of men would give up oral sex for beer.
• 34.8 percent of American women and 9.8 percent of men would give up oral sex for wine.
• 35.9 percent of European women and 22.6 percent of men would give up oral sex for wine.

Sex or Social Media?

• 25.6 percent of female respondents would give up sex for social media.
• 10.2 percent of male respondents would do the same.
