God bless the Quebecois! They have such a interesting way of putting together a phrase. I agree the extra long socks are a bit graphic, in fact that's what caught my attention, not taking a half second to read the french and re-translating in my head. Agreed, it looks nothing like a European sign.

This is definitively not a French sign. This probably is in Canada or Belgium. In France, street signs have a regulated format, standardized and warning signs should always be white with red border, or sometimes blue. But you'd never find a yellow sign in France (for warning or any other street sign, except construction signs) That being said, guffsbear was right, the translation is indeed watch out for our kids, this one might be yours... In France they usually have the kids at the local school paint huge signs that they will then put at the entrance of the city... but I don't know if that is really useful... people who want to drive fast will drive fast anyway...

It's not so weird really, I reckon the translation should read: "Watch out for our kids, they could be yours..." i.e. that could be your kid you're ploughing into at 60 miles an hour. Effective, non?!

We need more signs like this in the US instead of those little children crossing signs that look like people on skis.

OK, I like how cakes7873 notices the "extra long socks," the kid just got hit by a car, cut him some slack! Also, where can I order this sign? :o

The French don't beat around the bush... their reaction to danger is to tell you "Fait attention!!!" "Be careful." No exactly always PC, but gets the point out...
