Traveling With Your SO Can Positively Affect Your Relationship Up to 1 Month Later

Apr 8 2017 - 8:00am

Studies say couples experience a sexual "afterglow" up to 48 hours after having sex [1], and turns out, traveling together has even longer-lasting effects. A new survey conducted by vacation rental company Twiddy [2] found that when we travel with our partners, that afterglow can continue for up to a month.

The survey questioned over 2,000 participants about their sexual behaviors at home vs. on vacation. Forty-three percent of respondents said that they felt closer to their partners a few weeks to a month following their travels. Nineteen percent reported never losing that travel afterglow.

The results make sense since going on vacation is great for your health [3], increases sex drive, and makes us happier overall, according to the survey.

If you really want to up the romance on your next couple's vacation [4], opt for a tropical beach destination — 60 percent of respondents ranked that choice as the sexiest of all. Time to finally book that trip!
