U.S. Schools For The Performing Arts

Dear Sugar
I so badly want to become an actress. It's been my big dream, since I was little. Lots of my friends have told me that I was talented in drama, and it all of a sudden became a passion for me that's still burning inside of me. I'm 15 years old right now, but I would like to attend a drama high school if at all possible. Do you know any good drama high schools? Dani With A Dream

Dear Dani With A Dream
There is New York City's famous "Fame" New York's High School of Performing Arts (now called the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts High School). Also in New York there is The Acting Studio and New York's American Musical and Dramatic Academy with famous alums like Paul Sorvino and Brad Pitt to name a few. There's New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (which only takes students from the area) and Los Angeles's ARTA “ The American Russian Theatrical Alliance which is known for being one of the 10 best acting schools in the world. This isn't a dramatic high school; it's an acting specialty school that teaches the SVC Acting Method: Stanislavsky, Vakhtangov and Chekhov. Lee Strasberg's Theatre & Film Institute has 2 locations; New York and Los Angeles and is considered one of the best and most prestigious. It is not a high school, either; however you can attend on of the many programs offered in the summertime.
