Want More Sex Than My Boyfriend

Group Therapy: Satisfying a High Libido

This question is from a Group Therapy post in our TrèsSugar Community. Add your advice in the comments!

My boyfriend and I have sex maybe twice a week, if that. But when we're in bed to go to sleep, my body is asking for sex. I mean every night I get this feeling where I'm at a point where I don't want to cuddle with my boyfriend anymore because his touch arouses me! And he also is at the point were he is super tired at night and doesn't want to have sex, so I'm usually begging for sex!

Women shouldn't be chastised for having high sex drives. It is hard to hear that we should accept not having sex because woman are generally thought of to have low sex drives and should be happy with the sex we get. Two times a week is not a lot... for some. Women and men can have high and low sex drives. When they are different within couples, it can be very difficult for the both partners. I have a very high sex drive. My boyfriend does not. I know it bothers him and I have a very hard time with it as well. I masturbate, I have sex a few times a week, and yet my body yearns for more. I totally understand how hard this is. I am sorry I can't provide more advice as I am also going through the same thing.

I would try solving the situation by making sex not a late-night thing if you know he's the kind of guy who really needs his sleep after a long day. Perhaps try to suggest it at other times, like a quickie in the morning, which might works better? I would also probably try to get him more in the mood throughout the day by maybe sending little flirtatious messages to him, something to get his mind rolling in that direction! But you know the jiff, relationships are about compromise, you can do your best to make him want it, but if he really doesn't some days, perhaps get an awesome sex toy to do the job. Haha! Good luck!

Two times a week is not often but couples go through dry spells. For some this is not a dry spell but a way of life because of the other responsibilities they have, it makes them too tired for frequent sex. If you guys are used to having more sex, accept this as a temporary dry spell and yes, self love/masturbation can come in handy. (Pardon the pun) Talk to your lover about not wanting this to be an ongoing issue but don't put more pressure on him. Stressing him will push him away further. Maybe you guy's can come to a compromise and fit in enough sessions so you are getting your needs met and he's able to get the sleep he needs. Sounds like he probably has a lot on his plate.
