A few months ago, I would have said before 30. Now, I am 28 and just signed a HUUUGGGGEEE mortgage (for a house that will be ridiculously expensive to furnish) and private school is upwards of $26K a year for HS (less early on but around $15K then), so I will be waiting a bit longer since I want to stay home with my kids, at least part-time. Basically, I need to work to save up more $$$ first to give them what I want to without putting the whole burden on my wonderful husband.

oops, i forgot to add this. the one thing i dont want to do is set myself up for failure. i know so many women who freak out if they do not have a child by a certain age. they settle for stupid men, get into bad marriages or as one girl i know did, try to commit suicide. its really sad when i see women put all their worth into whether or not they have children. life is too short rush something so precious flutter-the one, the only, accept no substitutions

i seriously thought i would have my first by the time i was 25 and now im 27. i would like to have at least the first one down by the time im 30, the longer i wait the more fear i have. my mom had a hysterectomy at 30 and both my mom and her my sister miscarried their first child. flutter-the one, the only, accept no substitutions

Pregnant with my first at 17, gave birth at 18. Gave birth to my 2nd at 21. I'm 25 now, my kids are both out of diapers, bottles, temper tantrums and needing my attention every second of everyday. I'm glad I did it when I did, though it was unplanned. Having kids young is not for everybody though, it just happened for me and I was able to make it work.

I'm waiting until 30-35 because: --I'll be done with my Peace Corps assignment --I will have both of mt Doctoral degree's by then --I'll be financially stable enough to world travel the kid, and school them at the most prestigious world schools --I should be done "partying" by then Hopefully!!!) And it doesn't matter about my "clock ticking", because I come from an adoption family, and I have always known that I was adopting vs. having my own biological child.

I hope I didn't come across like 20 years old is the perfect age for everyone to give birth. I was not married and it was probably not the best timing. It did turn out to be a miracle for me. When I suggested people have kids "young", I meant before 40. I hope I don't offend anyone who had kids after 40. There is a reason I feel this way.

I was 24 when I got my first Baby. The next followed last October, when I was 27. A good age - for me

Me personally I've never had the desire to have kid's.Especially with some recent event's that I found out. This guy who I've known for 7 year's who I thought was here for me and only me,I find out had a girlfriend I never even knew about. He was playing both of us without the other ever knowing about it.Well all this time he's been hanging out with both of us.Here to find out that me and him had sex not too long ago,and this other chick is 9 month's pregnant.Needless to say I'm not too happy with all of this!If I wouldn't have accidently come across this information I would have never known,he obviously wasn't going to tell me.I hope this baby make's his life a living hell!

Having me young didn't stop my parents from taking vacations. They went on one alone but after that, they always took me. They just raised me well, and the three of us got along REALLY well. Sometimes they would bring my grandma so that they could go do their own thing. My dad still says that he feels odd going and doing vacations and cruises without me. -Bug

It's funny cause if you had asked me at 16 I would have said by 24.. at 24 if you had asked me I would have said around 28. But I didn't get married until I was 30 and then I think we started too soon by accident. It would have been nice to go on a vacation or two more together..maybe a cruise before the kids came along. It will be years before I will be willing to be away from them that long and even then its not the the back of my mind I will always be worrying and not as relaxed as before. LOL! In the end I had them at 33 and 35. there is no magic time or age. Everyone is different.. the most important thing is that hopefully you have a child when the time is right for you. ____________________________________________________________ World was on fire and no one could save me but you.

I'm 22, and while things have yet to be determined, I really want to have my kids before I'm 30. My parents were 21 and 22 when I was born, and having grandparents around into adulthood, it's nice to get a sense of where you come from and embrace it. And when I'm 30? My dad will only be 52. Pretty awesome, I think. I told the man-of-my-life that I expect to be married by 26 and have kids around 27/28. I think that gives us lots of time to grow up the rest of the way together and have fun. -Bug

I thought I would have had a child by now, but as I've discovered life has a funny way of throwing curve balls straight at ya. So with a little luck and a prayer I will be a mum by the time I am I have a few years left to go :)

considering i used to be an elementary school teacher, i really have no desire to have children (i'm 24, going to be 25 in 2 months); however, if i were to have a child, i'm thinking somewhere b/w 28 & 30. My boyfriend, who i love dearly, does not want any kids, so if he's the one, he'll probably just go and have a vasectomy (he actually said he'd consider it, which really surprised me!). So my guess is the answer will be no children.
