What Will You Do To Make a Difference This Year?

Today kicks off Gap's Red Campaign. All
of our Sugar Gals are dressed in the cool new Gap Red clothes. Half of the profits from each item sold will go to The Global Fund, an organization that helps African women and children infected with HIV/Aids.

If you like the way that we look, go on out and buy our duds. I've always believed that mimicry is the highest form of flattery. Shopping Gap's Red line is a great addition to any of the other ways that you make charitable contributions throughout the year.

I'll continue to do what I do; work on Habitat builds, run the NY Indie Underground ONE subchapter, work at the Soup Kitchen, put together benefit shows...

I'm very picky about where I donate. I look for organizations that designate all or most of their donations to research or direct support for its cause, instead of marketing and publicity. It's sometimes hard to spot the good ones.

BlondeSugar...it was very sad and made me jaded about charities which is a shame.

That's a horrible sad story JK. I always wonder where my money is *actually* going when I donate. We really have no idea

Donate money and Smart shopping on the proviso that the money does go to those in need. A few years ago I donated to the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). There was a horrible case in the UK were a Aunt and her boyfriend abuse a child....this poor child was sent by her mother to the UK for a better life from Africa. The devils beat this child, starve her and put out cigarettes on her so she had visible scars....she was referred to the NSPCC by a 3rd party and the NSPCC would not look at her case because they deemed she was in good care. This child unfortunately died because she was not given the protection that could have saved her so cancelled my donation to the NSPCC...and now I am very careful who I donate to.
