What's Your Favorite Memory With Your Dad?

Happy Father's Day!

To get in the spirit for Father's Day this week, we shared the things we have in common with our dads, explored books about fathers and daughters, and even took a look at different types of dads, the good and the bad. Since today's the day to honor our dads, either with a simple card or a day spent together, I'm curious: what's your favorite memory with your dad?

When my brother and I were about 12, we went to California. We flew in to San Jose, visited family, then drove down to Los Angeles to see his friends. That day, the drive from north to south along the Pacific Coast Highway, was one of the most magical days of my life. I got to see the ocean! I got to see palm trees! (coming from Colo., these are both huge treats) More than that, though, I got to see Dad really in his element.

My dad instilled in me a passion and interest for music. Thanks to him, I'd discovered great bands that I still love and listen to.

My dad used to take my sister and I camping for a week every summer when we were younger. We would travel by canoe and have to portage to our campsite, which meant that he had to do A LOT of work to get us there!
