What's your Biggest Work Pet Peeve?

What's your Biggest Work Pet Peeve?

We all have pet peeves, sometimes they are unwarranted, but other times they are quite justifiable. Since we spend so much of our time at the work place, it is no wonder the smallest of things has the ability to get under our skin. Whether it is your boss' telephone etiquette or the way your cube mate blows her nose, ladies, do tell, what is your biggest work pet peeve?

I had a coworker once whose husband just left her and that's all she talked about. I can sympathize lady but do you really need to talk about it so loud that the whole place can hear you? Especially when the girl you are telling it to is sitting right next to you. It used to drive me nuts!!

I'm a team leader in my office and I hate it when I'm on the phone or I'm obviously trying to handle an urgent matter and people are lining up at my desk. Wait until I'm off the phone or done taking care of a crisis, then come see me. Twenty people standing around me is only going to make me feel like a caged animal.I also have this employee who butts into people's conversation. One employee will ask another employee a question and she jump in to answer said question. Grr

Yes LOL Giggle, well it's wise not to share too much. It can backfire on you. Keep work and the personal separate I would say.

I work at home right now, but I always hated people who came to work sick, and the way everyone left their mess in the kitchen for someone else to clean up. Oh, and people who think they're above answering a telephone.

Haha, Giggle, I know! Still, I'm listing mine (in no particular order): Micromanaging Absent-mindedness Unorganization Coming up and talking to me about an e-mail or voice mail left hours ago and just picking up in the middle of the conversation like I know what the heck you are talking about. Taking advantage of the company's trust in you.

I hate people who are convinced they can do your job, yet when given opportunities, fail miserably but don't change their attitude... like hello?

This is making me nervous because every time I think of something and almost write it down I worry if I'm the irritating person at work! So I think I'll take this time to reflect...;)

My biggest work pet peeve - well, that's hard because what at work is not a pet peeve, seeing that it is work? Seriously though, i hate it when people have tons of work to do and they just leave the office like 6 times in like two hours for no apparent reason. AGONIZING. Do your work and then we will talk about you leaving the office.

When my manager asks me to do two things at one time as if he can't see me doing something else. It's like "My hands are full. Don't you think I would've answered the phone by now if they weren't?" AARRRGGGGHHHH. And when people are only sweet when they want to ask me to stay late any other time they're gossiping or ignoring me b/c they're mad that I won't stay late. People who call out for every little thing and then complain that they're not getting enough hours. Hearing my supervisors gossip about each other which just lets me know that they do it to me also.

I have a few co-workers with extremely aggravating habits (could that be why I'm looking for a new job?):1. One guy insists on complaining, in detail, about his money problems. He'll go on for 20 mins. at a time. Guess what buddy your not the only one.2. A few people work from home and don't seem to understand that just because they are not busy when they call into the office doesn't mean that it's not a zoo here. I can't drop every thing to answer your question every time you call, especially when it's less than half an hour before we close.

The lunch thing I have a problem with especially since I come in between 6:30 and 7:30am to communicate with factories. So to me lunch at 11:30 is normal unless it is a gym day.

My co-worker that is:1. Always sick and at the doctor did I mention it is all in her head.2. Complains about anything and everything including all the people we work with. She will spend 45 minutes bitching about having to do something and how much work it is when the reality is it would only take her 5 minutes.3. Complains that she stayed late when she rolls in between 9 or 9:30 everyday. So technically she is not staying late when she stays until 6:30 and takes an hour for lunch.

Oh I just thought of another one I had to get off my chest: I cant stand when lunch is ordered in the office and it's delivered at 11:30 am. That is not lunch time! If office hours are from 9-5 shouldn't lunchtime be more around 1?
