Which News Story Are You So Over?

You know the biggies — the stories that are so everywhere, all the time that you're contemplating buying property under a very big rock just to escape them. I guess Dick Cheney might have one story he's a little weary of hearing, too — here's his response to the "Dick Cheney is a heartless monster" story at last night's Radio & Television Correspondents' Dinner. I giggled.

Mildly well-delivered punchline aside, is this story an example of one that's driving you to distraction? If you have to hear one more word about Bush/Cheney et al will you come unglued? Or is your welcome worn out on one of these other constant loop topics?

ummm I said israel and palestine, i know that its sad, but it is not really 'news' is it, since we hear much less about the terribly unsafe living conditions in other parts or the world eg Africa. this Texas cult center issue is very important and should receive more ; i believe that crazy adults do not have the right to screw up a child's life and brainwash them, let alone subject them to sexual abuse and or marriage to an old pervert, for the sake of freedom of religion. i wish that the candidates were asked about what they would do to protect children in these kinds of dangerous situations. It is also sad how little faith people have in foster care, maybe there needs to be a program to attract higher quality foster parents/families. Too bad Angelina has not started a foster parenting trend

Ack! Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! The election definitely. To a certain degree, I acknowledge that a candidate's personality is important. But it's ridiculous to me how much it dominates the news. I don't care about the way Hillary dresses or if some stupid music magazine endorses Obama or if some reality star is planning on voting for McCain. We rarely hear about a candidate's stance on anything anymore - when we do, we only hear these carefully crafted vague responses that don't really say anything at all. Not to mention all of the partisan petty bickering that comes to the forefront during election time... I personally find it obnoxious. I know a lot of people get off on that, but I just don't get it. I'd really much rather hear more international news.

Il Papa. I heard a story on NPR (yes, I'm here, I'm liberal, get over it) about how they're preparing these massive platters of grains to offer to His Popeliness with all the breads representing the different regions of Catholicism that he will most likely not even eat. All this waste for religious pomp and circumstance while people are rioting for food all over the world.

how about the video of the fighting teenage girls? that has been run WAY too much - it's disturbing and it's something that doesn't deserve the attention it got. I think it's good to show they got in trouble, but do we need to see the video they made to get attention in the first place? why reward their bad behavior??? Get used to election coverage's gonna get even more intense. If you need a break...just watch more Food Network or go for a walk!

Agreed with Jillness and indie. I always get sick very quickly of crime stories--you know, the "dude kills wife, then goes on lam, and seven months later turns up in Tijuana" sort of stories. Those, and health studies and scares--"such and such has now been shown to be bad for you, and indeed may kill you, contrary to what you thought you knew for the past hundred years."

That's neither here nor there, is it..mondaymoos? Seriously, what IS your point?

...I guess I should clarify... I am tired of election misrepresentation. I would much rather hear the candidates just talk about themselves and their plans, than the other candidate.

The Election for sure. I used to love election years, but I think I've been through enough of them now that I'm just tired of it all!

On a slightly off-topic note, Mitt Romney had a "top ten reasons for dropping out" list at the dinner with Cheney last night... kinda cute. :)

"Hillary's cleavage and Barack's pastor" That totally gave me a mental reference to the other topic with the photo of the Pope over the boobs.

I wish they'd pay more attention to the Iraqi war to be honest. Less attention to Hillary's cleavage and Barack's pastor, please.
