Who Wants to Watch HBO's John Adams Mini-series With Me?

Who Wants to Watch HBO's John Adams Mini-series With Me?

I've been sorely missing a West Wing-style TV event to follow for oh, so long now — but it looks like my wait might be over! HBO (which I'm ordering immediately) is gearing up for a seven-part John Adams mini-series extravaganza. It starts March 25th, starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.

The trailer says it all — "I don't think anyone who sees this film will ever think the same way about the American Revolution again." I'm hooked-capital-H already. What do you say? Who wants to watch and obsess about it with me?

I don't get HBO but maybe they will stick it On Demand like they did In Treatment.

Aw MAN! I would soooo love to watch this, but I don't get HBO. Sadness. Ever since I read David McCullough's biography on John Adams, I've been a huge fan of the second president. Such a challenging and rich life he lead! Let us know how it is, Citizen! :)

Well, for the benefit of everyone here interested in seeing it: I will not watch this until after it airs completely, as it seems every time I start to watch something on HBO, I get very into it and then they cancel it.

I doubt anything could ever compare to 'The West Wing' in my eyes. (The first few seasons anyway.) Sigh. :( I'll still try to catch an episode soon. I'm into historical dramas too.

As long as it follows the book, I don't see a problem. I so often find myself peeved by these sorts of shows, because they update it to make it 'more interesting' to modern viewers, or rearrange the story for the same reason. I suppose we shall see, but I don't have high expectations.

Rome rocked!!! I will probably watch it. I just hope they remain accurate.

I'll watch anything with people in historical garb. I was addicted to Rome, which HBO cancelled, so I'm hoping that this will be just as good. Plus, I think Sarah Polley is the best.

I hear they changed the ending from the book and he wins a second term.

Hi Citizen, Do you know who wrote the book or which book it is on John Adams?

I don't know, it's based on the John Adams book--and looks really gritty. Maybe give it a shot? I'd love to hear your opinions if you think it has been toned down!

they will probably just switch history to make it more P.C. So I don't know if I will have the patience to watch it.

Well, it's staring on my birthday, so it better be good.
