UK police have arrested two women for trying to check a dead man into Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The wife and stepdaughter of 91-year-old Curt Willi Jarant rode with him in a taxi from a local hospital to the airport. He had just been released, and they were returning home to Germany.
The staff became suspicious when the man was wearing sunglasses at check-in and looking a little dead. Upon confirming he was, both women were arrested for failing to give notification of a death. I laughed at first, but after watching this clip I think they're telling the truth. But I'm not sure what's worse: trying to check a dead man into an airport, or not realizing he's dead at all?
The stepdaughter has a point, though. "How can you bring a dead person into Germany?" I would at least try France first!
