I agree! I think its healthy, especially if little things are bending people out of shape. If the person really is a solid friend, then hopefully they will be respectful of your need for space and understanding of your request. If they get all busted up over it, they just need to calm down and try to think of it rationally. I mean you are taking a break, so as not to completely lose the friendship. Nobody is perfect, so we all need time to patch things up.

As always, I say amen to that!! Don't get me wrong, I totally love my bestfriend and all, but sometimes there's times when I just have to get some space and talk to my other (best-ish) friends about things. Those that would understand more and critique less because they're in the same position as I am.

I don't have the patience to spend 365 days a year with anyone. At all. My husband and I will sometimes do a day or even an overnight alone while the other one stays with the kids, so we have a personal sanity saver. I think it's ridiculous when people expect us to get along and love being together all the time. Or when they assume a relationship is over because we disagreed.

Yea, I need a break form friends every now and then...I totally relate to this! I honeslty don't have the time or patience to spend EVERYDAY with a girlfriend...

I agree, however if you have a best friend who then takes huge offense to that and thinks you're abandoning them forever, you just push on through without a break.
