The First Thing You Should Do After a Breakup For Your Heart's Sake

Is It Your Responsiblity To Be A Role Model To Your Younger Sibling?

Little Aliana Lohan is really growing up and the pics on the cover of November's CosmoGirl are proof. Big sister Lindsay talks about which advice she chooses to pass along and what she feels Ali should learn on her own.

Similarly, sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are on OK's November 6th's cover discussing their relationship. In most cases, having a big brother or sister is the best thing in the world. They help to break in your parents and you get to not only borrow their things, you get to watch and learn from their mistakes.

Being a big brother or sister can be considered a huge responsibility. Some take it seriously and others feel that their siblings need to live lives of their own and learn to develop by making the same kinds of mistakes that they have. What do you think?

I agree, with what people are saying I'm not going to 'mould sister. I try and have a responsible attitude around her. She's starting to enjoy being with me now, so I can't be introducing her to my many men and effing and blinding around her, not that I do when she's not around. ;)

of course it is...I am not going to rely on Britney or Christina to be role models for my sister

I agree that "mold" is too strong a word - but as an older sister, I'm definately a role model whether I want to be or not.

la_clique, I think it is your second opinion. I don't think herb does has that affect. If herbie was st*ned...he/she would be laughing so hard he/she would be crying, reading the crazy stuff we type. ;)

:D On another post somewhere a pop said Herbie likes the Herb. I think that might be the best explanation..... ;) If not, it is certainly the best play on words!

Me, too! I think Herbie likes to mess us about, as our Brit friends like to say.

Yeah, molding it tooo strong of a word, but you should be there to guide them, if they'll let you.

I don't believe in 'molding' anyone. That means they wont be their own person or learn from their own mistakes. They have to live and learn, just like you did. It's almost as if it's more of a hypocritical type thing, why tell them not to do something if you are doing that 'bad' thing? Am I rambling?

I don't think you need to mold or protect your younger siblings. But, I do think you have a responsibility to be a good role model for them. Which just means don't let them see you be bad. Ha ha ha.
