TS: Sarah Silverman and Gwyneth Paltrow say some really great things about women being on the same team. In the first episode, Sarah says, "The worst thing that can happen for people who don't want women to be strong is that we help each other and become a force." How do you think we can shift that cultural mindset that it's always a competition between women?
AC: I think it starts with us, right? You're in the media. I'm in the media. We have a responsibility to start putting different stuff out there. So that's why in editing those interviews I made sure that you get to hear Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Silverman saying we need to stick together.
If all that gets put out there is The Bachelor, where you have 100 women competing with one another for one douche bag, sorry to say. Girls are watching that and thinking, "It's OK to compete, and only one of us can win." This is what we're getting fed, that only one of you can win. Only one of you is good enough. And I think, what Ashley Judd just did, which is to say, it's women who criticized her for having a puffy face or she had work done or she's not skinny. And I'll bet you, whoever those first women were who started to say that have their own body image issues.
