15 Summer Reads to Make Things Even Hotter This July
It's my favorite time of the month — the time where I pull together my most-anticipated reads that are releasing this month and share them with you! July is known for its hot weather, but I'm not sure we've ever seen a heatwave like the books I'm about to share are no doubt going to cause.
Wired by Julie Garwood, Out July 4
Wired by No. 1 New York Times bestseller Julie Garwood is what would happen if Arrow's Felicity Smoak teamed up with Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds. Fan-favorite character Special Agent Liam Scott from 2014's Fast Track meets his match when he has to find a leak buried deep in his department. In need of a hacker with some serious skills, he tracks down Allison Trent. But the last thing she wants is for her hacktivist projects to get on the government's radar. Liam will do nearly anything to persuade her to join his team, even if it means breaking some rules that could put his job — and both of their futures — on the line.
Can't Take My Eyes Off of You by Bella Andre
In Bella Andre's upcoming book, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, Christie Hayden escaped to Summer Lake to heal from heartbreak, but never expected to meet Liam Kane, a gorgeous millionaire who sweeps into her life from out of the blue. The first time Liam lays eyes on Christie, he's a total goner. The love she offers him is everything he never thought he could have, but now craves with every fiber of his being. But Liam has been keeping a secret for 20 years, one that nearly destroyed him — one that has the potential to tear his whole family apart too. Will Liam be able to let himself heal? Or will they both end up broken, leaving her to pick up the pieces all over again?
Shameless by Lisa Renee Jones
My own bestselling White Lies Duet concludes in a mind-blowing finale with Shameless. He came here to destroy her. He never anticipated loving her . . . needing her . . . Her submission. Her passion. But his lies might destroy them both before the real danger can ever get to them.
Wildfire by Ilona Andrews
Ilona Andrews is back with another book in her Hidden Legacy series with Wildfire. This is the world of Nevada Baylor and Connor "Mad Rogan." They're polar opposites: Nevada's hidden her talent for detecting and extracting the truth, while Rogan's destructive skills are . . . well, hard to conceal (not that he tries). And in Wildfire, all the challenges they've faced dealing with their powers, the Powers That Be, their families, their own crazy chemistry, and (oh no!) their emotions are going to be pushed into overdrive by the shadowy alliance that nearly destroyed their city. (And then there's Rogan's ex-fiancee.)
When I Need You by Lorelei James
In When I Need You by Lorelei James, Jensen Lund has only three rules: no single moms, cheerleaders, or medical personnel. Unfortunately for him, Rowan Michaels just happens to be all three — and his new neighbor that he can't resist breaking those rules for. Rowan knows firsthand that football players and monogamy don't mix, but she's also very thankful the Vikings have a strict no-mixing-business-with-pleasure policy because she can only resist Jensen's charm for so long.
Well Built by Erika Wilde and Carly Phillips
Erika Wilde and Carly Phillips are teaming up once again for another sexy standalone with Well Built. Second chances don't get any hotter than this! Country girl vs. city boy, and a past that stands between them. But Kyle Coleman is built for more than just sin . . . he's built to last.
Until You Loved Me by Brenda Novak
In Until You Loved Me by Brenda Novak, Hudson King was abandoned the day he was born — in Bel Air, of all places, one of the richest areas in California. No one can say who left him or why. But his fortunes have changed dramatically over the years. As one of the most gifted quarterbacks in the NFL, he's overcome a lot to achieve what most men can only dream of. He has everything. Almost. He still craves answers, has to find the person or people who left him to die all those years ago so he can learn why. Problem is . . . what he finds out makes him wish he'd never solved the mystery. Good thing he has just the person to stand in his corner with scientist Ellie Fisher . . .
The Red by Tiffany Resiz
In The Red by Tiffany Resiz, The Red Art Gallery is in big trouble. The debts are piling up and the art is gathering dust on the walls. Mona Lisa St. James may have to do the unthinkable — sell her late mother's beloved gallery. Just when it seems there's no hope for The Red, a mysterious and wickedly handsome Englishmen appears and offers Mona a way out of debt. If she agrees to sexually submit to him for one year, he will save The Red from bankruptcy. Mona agrees to his devil's bargain. After all, she's only selling her body, not her soul. Or is she?
Wicked Kiss by Rebecca Zanetti
In Wicked Kiss by Rebecca Zanetti, badass yet emotionally complex characters, scorching sensuality, and high-octane world building are the trademarks of Rebecca Zanetti's Realm Enforcers series, featuring alpha males with supernatural fire-wielding powers and the strong human women who tame them. Wicked Kiss is the story of Adam and Tori. Adam is the rigid, domineering, sexy witch enforcer who's suddenly tasked with protecting Tori, a free spirited musician who is also working with the DEA to bring down Adam and his friends. Smart and wild, Tori is just what the sophisticated Adam needs. And he knows it deep down, but of course he fights his desire at every turn . . .
Steal by Rachel Van Dyken
All hell breaks loose in Rachel Van Dyken's new release Steal, when Will is forced to face his ex on set for the next 90 days without strangling her. She reminds him of everything she broke between them, and he reminds her of all the reasons it fell apart in the first place. The sexual tension is off the charts, he hates her as much as he still loves her, and she loves him as much as she still hates him. One thing is for certain — the drama won't stay on the screen for long.
His Turn by JA Huss
Nadia Wolfe. 20-something. Beautiful. Talented. Ballerina. Control freak. New in town. Rising star. Player of games. She's so stupidly simple to figure out, I almost feel sad that she's not more of a challenge. I decide the ballerina aspect is my best first move. They must look a certain way, behave a certain way, and submit to the whims of those who control their future. Success, therefore, is not defined by their own perceptions of themselves, but by the perceptions of others. And those perceptions are directly related to athletic skill, beauty, and youth. It's a trifecta of psychological disorders waiting to happen. I smile. I've got you, Nadia Wolfe. I have your ticket, darling. I know what drives you now.
His Turn by JA Huss
Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan
Harper Sloan releases the next book in her Coming Home series with Kiss My Boots. How do you face your greatest love, when you have spent a lifetime erasing their memory? Quinn Davis is in for a fight of the heart now that Tate Montgomery is back in Pine Oak.
Chasing Vivi by AM Hargrove
Vivi Renard was never supposed to affect me like this. In high school I paid her to do my homework. Now she's drop dead gorgeous with plump red lips and a body that has me dreaming filthy things like a kid with his first crush. What's worse is she wants nothing to do with me. But I'm Prescott Beckham, the king of playing ruthless games. So she'd better get ready to drop her thong, because Vivi is going to be mine sooner . . . or later. And I'm damn sure it's going to be sooner.
Chasing Vivi by AM Hargrove
Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland
Turned out, the gorgeous jerk I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That's what I thought...until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I'm your new teaching assistant. I'll be working under you . . . figuratively speaking.
Secrets of the Tulip Sisters by Susan Mallery
Susan Mallery's latest book, Secrets of the Tulip Sisters, has not one, not two, but three great guys vying for the three heroines' hearts. Mallery masterfully weaves three romantic storylines — plus all the emotional drama of the sisters' relationship — into an emotionally satisfying tapestry. Griffith Burnett is the high school crush turned hometown hottie. Sven is make-your-toes-curl sexy. (For a laugh, check out this.) And the third hero? He's completely unexpected, and I don't want to spoil the surprise. Let's just say Mallery has done something in this book that I haven't seen before.
