9-Year-Old Loses 66 Pounds

Breanna Bond has always had issues with her weight. She was 100 pounds by kindergarten and 186 by age nine. She couldn't walk far without having breathing difficulties, or keep up with her friends when they played, and classmates were teasing her. It was at that point that her mom, Heidi Bond, decided to take matters into her own hands. The whole family began daily four-mile walks (no matter the weather) to support Breanna's weight loss.

The nine-year-old Californian was put on a strict diet, with 20 grams or less of fat a day, and began using a treadmill daily, for an hour-and-a-half at a time. She's now lost 66 pounds, is able to play with her friends, and is even involved in team sports. The Bonds tell Good Morning America that they're glad they decided to practice tough love to get Breanna through this, because it saved her life.

i wish my family could have done this for me. i also had weight issues my whole life. i didnt lose any until my freshman year in hs when i crash dieted. but i gained it all back and then some when i got pregnant :/

Yes, yes. Everyone loves a good weight-loss story & I'm sure this accomplishment has boosted confidence & determination, which are very healthy & motivating mindsets but let's not forget that being fat doesn't mean you are unhealthy. Sometimes, of course -obesity can be dangerous to ones health but there has always been active, love living, HEALTHY fat people. Weight obsession is a ridiculous waste of time.
