Amber Rose is one progressive parent! The 34-year-old activist and mom-of-one recently opened up to Us Weekly about some of her parenting techniques [1], and while it may raise some eyebrows, she's fully committed to letting 5-year-old Sebastian Taylor Thomaz express himself the way he likes. . . even if it means dropping an F-bomb here and there [2]. "I let my son curse in the house because it's a form of expression," she told the magazine at her annual SlutWalk. "Kids like to curse. I tell him when it's appropriate and not to say it at school. That's it."
So, if Bash — as his mom and dad, Wiz Khalifa, call him — stubs his toe or falls off the monkey bars in his backyard, he's absolutely allowed to say the F-word [3]. But that's not all — Amber also said she's ready to have "the talk" with her son [4], despite his young age. "I'm going to be like Barbra Streisand in The Fockers, where she's like, 'Honey, have you given your wife an orgasm recently?'" Amber said. "That's how my mom was with me."
While many parents stress over the appropriate age to talk to their kids about sex [5], Amber is ready whenever Bash is. She wants the conversation to be as open as possible, so he never feels the need to hide things [6] from her. In fact, the magazine reports that Amber "joked that Sebastian will know about how babies are made before he stops believing in Santa." That includes keeping the house filled with condoms when her son "is a certain age" so he understands how to be safe.
Amber and Wiz were married from 2013 through 2014, and although they're not together anymore [7], they're fully committed to coparenting cordially.
