American Academy of Pediatrics Revises Circumcision Stance

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) revised it policy on circumcision today, moving closer to an endorsement of the procedure.

In the report, the AAP said that the health benefits of circumcision of newborn boys outweigh the risks, and that both public and private insurers should cover the procedure.

The organization also insisted it's still up to parents to weigh the health, cultural, and religious implications to make the best decision for their child.
