Awesomely Easy Way to Get Cash for Outgrown Kids Items

Awesomely Easy Way to Get Cash for Outgrown Kids Items

If you're like us and have an ever-growing pile (or piles) of clothes the kids have outgrown, we've got some cool news. thredUP is a program that helps moms easily earn money by sending in outgrown kids clothes.

In a nutshell, the program works like this:

  1. Order an empty thredUP bag.
  2. Fill it with your kids' outgrown items and leave it outside for the mail carrier to pick up.
  3. Earn money for every item that meets thredUP's quality standards (only certain brands, no stains, tears, etc.)
  4. Get paid via PayPal, or use the money to buy other clothing items on thredUP in your kids' new sizes.

Check it out here.

they have the new show on VH1 -house of consignment - that seems to be the same concept and it is a multimillion dollar business (edrop-off)

It's a great idea, but all the brands they say they won't take are the main ones they're actually selling--walmart, kmart, etc. brands and nothing special that you wouldn't find at a decent thrift store for the same price...too bad

Tried out this site when it was newer and liked the idea. The only problem was they sent flat rate boxes instead of the bags which I think is a great improvement. Hopefully more people join so there is more of a selection.
