POPSUGAR: What are your earliest memories of being in the kitchen with your dad?
Benno Batali: We've been in the kitchen for as long as I can remember!
PS: What are the most important kitchen lessons that your dad has taught you?
BB: When it comes to olive oil, salt, chili flakes, and truffles, more is more. Sometimes you don't have to follow a recipe step-by-step. If you like it spicier, add some extra chili.
PS: Were you picky or good eaters as little kids?
BB: Our dad made it hard to be picky. We ate obscure vegetables, but they were rolled into pasta sauces and pies. It was always delicious.
PS: What's your favorite meal to eat at home? Who makes it?
Leo Batali: Taco night is a favorite. Our babysitter, Leo, makes homemade tomatillo and cucumber salsas. I made the beef.
