Bath Photos of Kids

Be Careful When Taking Bath Photos of Your Tots

What family album doesn't include a bath photo? An Arizona family may be thinking twice before ever having such snapshots developed again. The couple's three children were taken from them and placed in foster care after a Wal-Mart employee discovered nude images of the kids while printing up the clan's vacation photos. Though the parents have since been cleared of any wrongdoing, investigators originally were tipped off when a store employee found pictures of the children, ages 5, 4, and 1½, in various states of undress while en route to the tub. Following the youngsters' removal from their home, the state launched an inquiry into the possibility of sexual assault which included thorough physical examinations of each child. The family is now suing Wal-Mart, the city, and the state for punitive damages for defamation and outrage.

Do you consider who will be viewing your family photos when having them printed?

One of my FAVORITE photos from when I was a kid is my, my younger brother and our neighbor sitting on their piano bench all naked. It's a "butt" shot an absolutely adorable. I think I was about 3, my brother and the other boy were around 18months. I have many bath and "naked" pictures of my babies, they are super cute! I would be so angry if I was treated like these parents who were just trying to capture a childhood memory.

Why does our country hate parents!? First, spanking is considered either sexual or physical assault in some areas, now bath time pictures are being treated as kiddie porn? No wonder so many parents are making the TV and computer do the parenting for them... ugh. Though my family went all digital a long time ago. When I have kids, I'll just take the pictures to my uncle to help me print, who understands the meaning of a good photo (as an experienced photographer himself).

I don't use photo processing centers anymore, however, I agree with twinkie - you should be able to tell the difference between innocent pics and suspicious ones. I think someone was over-exerting their "power".

I wanna know who the employee was that decided an innocent bath photo was kiddie porn, and the manager who agreed with them. Those are the true definition of idiots.

Can't these fools tell the difference between innocent bath time pictures and kiddie porn? :oy:

I had something like this happen at Walmart too but not to this extreme. I was having prints made from a cd that was released to me from a studio. I had a question and the lady asked if they were done professionally I said yes and before I could explain that I had the rights she cancelled my order and took the prints that already printed. She wouldn't listen to me about the rights instead she just kept telling me about my illegal ways. Another reason I don't Do business at Walmart.
