We all have our go-to resources for kids' basics — the big-name brands and retailers that we rely on regardless of what's trendy and new. But in the interest of avoiding kiddie closet monotony, we'd like to introduce you to 10 small-scale lines that you may or may not have already heard of but should definitely be on your radar. Here's to being the best-dressed tot on the playground!

Anais & I

Anais & I [1]'s line of simple, chic apparel for babies, girls, and boys up to age 12 may be on the pricier side, but the quality is exquisite. The brand was started by former interior designer Jane D'Haene, who taught herself to sew following the birth of her daughter, Anais.

Girls' apparel features delicate prints, sundresses, and comfy blouson tops, while the boys' collection is more minimalist. Shop online, or check out the brand's website for a listing of brick-and-mortar stockists.

TANE Organics

In addition to utilizing luxe natural and organic fabrics, TANE Organics [2] takes a firm stance on its commitment to fair trade practices by having its apparel crafted by Peruvian artisans.

The brand caters to babies newborn through 12 months, with a capsule collection just for preemies called T2. TANE's Spring/Summer collection was inspired by the "goodness of the Earth" and features shapes and patterns reflective of farming and being out in nature.
