Bun in the Oven Costume

babysugar Diaries: Halloween Costumes

Halloween is quickly approaching and I'm at a loss for what to do for a costume. Now, I'm not certain I'm down with the idea of parents dressing up with the tot, but if I decide to dress up, this would certainly fit the bill.

Tell me, do you think I, babysugar, should go for the bun in the oven costume ($45) and have my husband be the bun maker ($24)? Perhaps we should dress our child up as a loaf of bread to go along with the bun we have in the oven. I have two issues with the gear: the bun is quite suggestive if you know what I mean and, would there be space for my eight-month belly in this boxy suit?

I will be only 2 weeks away from my due date on Halloween and we have an adult party to go to....I am seriously contemplating the old "pregnant nun" costume... Either that or buying (if I can find such a thing) an upscale orange top (I've seen some at J.Crew non-maternity but I could buy a large size) or some sort of normally fashionable outfit that is orange and calling myself "the great pumpkin"... and get a yellow t-shirt and make marker zig-zags for the hubby to be Charlie Brown.... I'm kind of more into home-made costumes this year...

I went as knocked up/white trash barbie when I was pregnant. Easy and got lots of laughs.

I like the idea, too, but not those costumes. And I have seen the wonderbread costumes. I like group costumes. Maybe you could pick a trio that would suit you.... Mike, Suclly & Boo (would work great for your belly) Mine are going to be Alice, the Mad Hatter & Cheshire cat this year

I wouldn't. It's a cute idea, but I don't like the actual costumes. Although if you made one yourself it might be really cute.Or dress up as the Penguin with your husband as Batman. :)
