Children Trust Attractive Adults

Children More Likely to Trust Attractive Adults

Think looks don’t matter? Children are more likely to trust an attractive person than one who is unattractive, CBS News reports. When 4- and 5-year-olds were shown photographs of different people and asked which one knew the correct answer to a question, they overwhelming chose the good-looking person (as ranked by college students), according to a study published in the British Journal of Developmental Psychology.

"We see from the results that children, and especially girls, have more trust in attractive faces, even though there are no obvious reasons why people with more attractive faces would be more knowledgeable," Igor Bascandziev, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and a visiting assistant professor at Clark University said.
