Complimenting Mothers

Lil Community: A MOMent of Truth

How do you make a mama's day? Tiffany Carboni shared three little compliments that will make any mother smile in The Mommy Club group.

Three of the nicest compliments you can pay any mother:

  1. Your hair looks fabulous.
  2. Your house is so clean.
  3. I saw the hottest pole dancer last night that I swear looked exactly like you.

Have your own favorite compliment? Share it with us! And start asking questions and sharing your advice and tips in The Mommy Club!

I feel ya on the stripper thing runningesq! I always felt good when people told me my house looked nice — as in picked up and not full of tripping hazards. Also, this isn't a compliment but something I love to hear, "Can I have your daughters over for a playdate." Love this since it often means 2 to 3 hours of free babysitting!

I don't think I'd like to be compared to a stripper ! I'm 26 weeks pregnant (so not a mom yet!) but I do like hearing "you have such a cute bump" and "you look great" :)

Here are mine: 1. "Your daughter is very well-behaved." 2. "You look so pulled together today." 3. "Would you like to go out for coffee?" (or anything else that implies that yes, I am interesting, and a real actual grownup would like to spend time with me)

How about, "Excuse me, Miss, I need to see your ID." (The "Miss" being vitally important spoken by a young, good-looking, male sales clerk while you are purchasing a case or more of wine in the cart with the week's groceries that include lunchables and oreos which are really not for you unless you're really hungry and you haven't had a chance to eat because it's 3:00 and the seven loads of laundry, cleaning and dishes, nevermind the grocery shopping, have kept you from downing more than five cups of coffee all day.)
