Convicted Sex Offender Lists Children's Park as His Address

A local community is outraged after a convicted sex offender registered a popular community park as his home. 

As the Daily Times reports, the Pennsylvania state police have allowed 30-year-old Steven Sherlock to register Naylor's Run Park in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania as his address. Sherlock was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2003, and under Megan’s Law he is required to register his address. 

The township’s police chief, Superintendent Michael Chitwood, is furious about the situation: "Children and families go there to play ball, play tennis and picnic every day,” Chitwood said. “I can’t imagine the state police have any idea where Naylor’s Run Park is."

"It’s absolutely insane to have a violent sexual offender living in that park," he added. "Go there any day and there are kids everywhere.”'
