Why This Mom Is Urging Dads Everywhere to "Take the God D*mn Photo"

Dad's Facebook Post About Being a Mom

This Dad's Narration of What It's Like to Be a Mom For a Day Will Touch Everyone

Moms know parenting their little ones is a full-time job that often doesn't receive the recognition it deserves. Thanks to a dad's Facebook post, however, everyone can see that mothers are everyday superheroes.

When Brad Kearns had to unexpectedly watch his two kids — a 2-year-old and 6-week-old — after his wife was hospitalized, he decided to write about his day in the role of a mom. He described what it's like to come home from work to a messy house, crying baby, demanding toddler, and no food in the house. He resorted to feeding his son Knox "2-minute noodles" and letting Knox put stickers on his legs as entertainment so the baby could sleep. Although, spoiler alert: baby Finn woke up screaming bloody murder.

The narration is not only hilarious but also quite touching because every parent, especially moms, can relate to the struggle of trying to balance motherhood, work, relationships, and life. Brad pretty much summed up what it is like to be a mother with this one phrase:

"So I got the kids ready for the day and planned my attack on the domestic duties. And by that I mean I spent the next 2 hours in the lounge room holding Finn, in a spiral of insomnia induced hallucinations allowing Knox to help himself to an assortment of fruit sticks, K-Time Twists and Sa-Ka-Ta's until he eventually retreated to his train set."

And just as we see that Brad was at his wits' end by 5:30 a.m. the next morning, he wrote that there was a knock at the door. He found his mother-in-law standing outside, ready to lend a helping hand. Another mother to save the day.
