Boy With Cerebral Palsy Just Shredded the Skatepark With a Little Help From Dad

Watch out, Tony Hawk. A dad and son duo just stole the skateboarding spotlight and melted dozens of hearts in the process. Utah resident Phil Van Hise recently took his 5-year-old son, Callen, for a spin at the local skatepark in his wheelchair, and now they're going viral for their heartwarming adventure.

Callen was born prematurely and diagnosed with Hypnotic Cerebral Palsy, so he has trouble with balance and coordination, according to Fox 13 Salt Lake City. But that didn't stop him from having the ride of his life, as his dad pushed him up and down the ramps in his wheelchair.

Callen's mom, Paula, shared a sweet video of their ride and explained how she wants her son to know that "just because his body works differently than the majority of his peers, that does not mean he can't participate in the activities he chooses," she wrote in the Facebook post. "All we have to do is adapt." The proud mom also gave her husband a shout-out for being "such a great dad," and noted how happy their trip to the skatepark made her. "His laughter, shouting, and pure admiration for the other skaters left this mommy smiling from ear to ear."

Watch Callen and Phil shred the skatepark in the adorable video above, and you'll surely be left smiling ear to ear as well.
