Diaper Cake Using Cloth Diapers 2010-02-05 22:39:27 A Diaper Cake For Green Mamas February 5, 2010 by babysugar I Want More! Get our Moms newsletter by tapping the button below. Choose a fabric that goes along with the babe's nursery and cover it. Don't glue it all over — we want the mama to be able to use it if she chooses. Cover It Up Cover the entire box with the fabric. Re-Use Materials Get creative and turn random objects into decoration. In this case, the materials from a package came in handy. I deflated the green puffed up packaging and glued it to the side of the house for bushes. Make a Base Turn cardboard into something useful. I made this box a lawn for the house while making it a carrying tray, too. Turning It Into a "Yard" Take some fun fabric that speaks to the expectant mother. The recipient of this diaper cake is an avid horse lover so I chose a pattern with horses, fences and some other animals. The Finished Base Once the fabric is glued (only glue edges so she can use it other ways), flip it over and get ready to place the house on it. Final Touches Many resusable diapers come with cloth inserts. I chose to use those as the roof — simply placed. I also taped a washcloth to the house to create a door. The windows and back doors are plain pieces of felt cut into easy shapes. I inserted reusable yellow flowers into the green bushes. As a final touch, I added a horse. Wrap It Up To tie it all together, place it on a bed of tulle and gather it at the top with a ribbon bow.
