If you watched the Super Bowl on Sunday night, chances are you're still blown away by Pink's performance of the national anthem. If you don't follow her on social media (what are you waiting for?!), you also probably had no idea that she was battling the flu at the time (seriously, her voice is a powerhouse). Since Pink is one of the most relatable celebrity moms out there, she decided to share just how her sickness came about in a hilarious Instagram post shortly before she took the field.
"Trying to practice the flu away," the mom of daughter Willow, 6, and son Jameson, 1, wrote alongside a photo of her rehearsing before the big game. "I've been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can't write this stuff I swear! And here we are. I've arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare. I will tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my family, my military family, my dad and brother and step mama and family and the world. And the EAGLES!?!?! I promise I will do my best, as I always do. As far as the gremlins that got me into this mess, you can cough at me for the rest of your lives. If it's a contest, babies, you win."
All moms can certainly relate to the coughing, puking, and snotting that our children fire directly into our mouths. Even with developed immune systems and clever cleaning tactics, sometimes it's impossible to avoid getting sick. Much like Pink's little ones, our kids serve as adorable "Petri dishes," and it's inevitable they'll find a way to spray their germs all over us. But despite Pink's kids getting her sick ahead of one of the biggest performances of her life, she still totally nailed it, which further proves women are superheros. Hopefully she left the field, promptly wrapped herself in her bed comforter, and asked her husband, Carey Hart, to take care of the children. She most definitely deserves it.
