LS: What are your pantry essentials, and why?
JR: I can make anything with eggs, whole wheat pasta, frozen spinach, and onions; those are my four main staples. And maybe some quinoa. We do a big weekly shop on Sundays at Trader Joe's. We pile in the organic chicken: breasts, thighs, and drumsticks. It's affordable, healthy, and easily accessible. And I always make sure there's a chocolate-covered confection in the cart. Dessert is huge in our house; we are not very disciplined. Chocolate-covered almonds, peanut butter cups . . . an ample supply of sweets is essential!
